The Proski Newcastle Northstars will have their 2017 top scorer back for the new season.
Joseph Harcharik lead the Northstars in scoring (tied with fellow import Steven Kuhn) last season with 20 goals and 24 assists for a total of 44 points over 26 games.
Harcharik’s apex came on July 23 when the Northstars beat the Melbourne Mustangs 4-1 in Melbourne.
It was import Felix Poulin’s last game for the Northstars and one of the last few for import Kale Karbashian.
All four goals were scored by Harcharik, and assisted by Poulin and Karbashian.
Now returning for the 2018 season, Harcharik feels a strong sense of unfinished business in the AIHL, recognising the untapped potential of 2017 plus the boosted enthusiasm and depth of the 2018 Northstars team.
"I have a great feeling we are going to win it all and bring that trophy back to Newcastle,” Harcharik said of his upcoming season with the Northstars.
Despite having a laugh at his own expense about a fear of huntsman spiders, Harcharik appears to like Australia.
He’s been coming to Australia since 2015 to play AIHL hockey.
See the attached video for more news about what Harcharik’s been up to, including where he was playing in the Northern Hemisphere, and what he’s looking forward to when he lands back to Australia.
