Hey Liam! This is your second year playing for the Northstars how are you finding it?

I’m loving it, this year especially I’ve got more of a permanent role on the team. I’m seeing a lot more ice and getting more involved with the boys.

Do you have a favourite NHL team?

Washington Capitals. I’ve sort of just grown up following them and my whole family are Caps fans.

Do you have a favourite Player?

Yeah I’d say Jeff Carter from the LA Kings. When I played overseas I studied him a lot at my hockey academy. We had to get an NHL player to study to mimic your game around. I played at the Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy in Kelowna in British Columbia, that was two seasons ago. So through that I got pretty familiar with Jeff Carter and it was really interesting. I mean obviously I love Alex Ovechkin but yeah I’d say Jeff Carter.

What got you into hockey?

I came to a public session here when I was 5 and my brother asked one of the staff members here how to stop and funnily enough it was Francis Walker who was at that point, in 2005, the leading goal scorer in the AIHL. He was an import from Canada and then he just took us under his wing and it went from there.

Who do you think is the biggest joker on the team?

Timmy Stanger, definitely.

If you could spend the day with anyone dead or alive who would it be?

I’m going to say Adam Sandler.

Do you have a favourite city to visit or play in?

Definitely Kelowna, British Columbia in Canada. There is so much hockey there and so many rinks. It’s such a cool city and it’s pretty much like Newcastle too.

What do you do when you’re not playing hockey?

I used to spend a lot of time on the lake. I wakeboard a lot, but we just sold our boat. Usually not too much I like to go to the gym a lot and hang out.

Do you have a favourite hockey movie?

I’d have to say Miracle, yeah.

What is your weapon of choice in a Zombie Apocalypse?

I’d say a bottle of gas.

Do you have a pre-game pump up song?

Yeah usually ‘Can’t be Touched’ by Roy Jones.

Do you have any pre-game rituals at all?

Yeah actually I do, I always have before every game a bowl of pasta with honey.

What would you say or do to get someone to a Hockey game?

It’s a very fast game and the second most physical in the world. At the start it’s hard to follow but once you get it, it’s the most fun game in the world to follow.
