For the 2019 AIHL season the Newcastle Rescue Northstars will be running a competition sponsored by Insane Signs called the Insane Signs Play of the Game.

The Insane Signs Play of the Game competition will be held the week after a Northstars home game.

A video with three standout moments from a Northstars home game (or games if it is a double-header) will be uploaded to the Newcastle Northstars Facebook page.

Only Newcastle Northstars players will be selected for the Insane Signs Play of the Game video.

Members of the public are then invited to vote for their favourite Play of the Game featured in the video by selecting the corresponding reaction listed on the Facebook post.

For example:

'Like' react for video clip number one
'Love' react for video clip number two
'Haha' react for video clip number three

By selecting a reaction, the voter has agreed to enter into the Insane Signs Play of the Game competition and go into the draw to win $50.

Votes in the competition close at midday (12pm AEST) the Friday after the video is posted to the Newcastle Northstars Facebook page.

A winner will be selected at random.

The winner will be announced at the next home game following the competition's close.

The winner must be present at the home game to collect the $50.

If the winner is not present and the $50 is not collected, the prize pool will jackpot for the next home game.

The three Northstars players nominated and featured in the Insane Signs Play of the Game video also have the chance to win $50.

The player with the most votes by the close of voting will win the $50.

The player will be awarded the Play of the Game at the next home game.
