The Proski Newcastle Northstars will call Warners at the Bay its new post-game home in 2018.
In 2002 and 2003, following a Northstars home game, fans could stay in Warners Bay for a drink and feed with the team.
Since that time, the Northstars have made their after-game homes in Boolaroo, Wallsend, Lambton and most recently in Broadmeadow at The Premier Hotel.
Now in 2018, the Northstars are staying home in Warners Bay, heading about 800 metres down the road from Hunter Ice Skating Stadium to Warners at the Bay on Hillsborough Road.
"We are really excited about this opportunity," Northstars general manager Garry Dore said.
"With a number of our fans and players coming from the Central Coast and further areas we really wanted to have a closer to home venue.
"It just makes sense for us this season to have a local venue so we can have some great post-game celebrations."
Warners at the Bay, who are also sponsors of the Northstars team, will be providing a shuttle bus between the hotel and rink on game days to cut down on parking congestion.
The move to a local post-game venue is one of several made by the Northstars this season that aims to increase the value for our fans and supporters.
